Please Read This Advisory

On Saturday, March 1, 2008 the Hoboken Saint Patrick's Day Committee will sponsor the annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade. The event is scheduled to kick-off at 1 pm (1300 hours) from 14th & Washington Street and travel south on Washington Street. The reviewing stand is in front of City Hall at 1st & Washington Streets. The anticipated duration of the parade is approximately 1 hour in length.

The entire length of Washington Street and the traversing streets will close to all traffic beginning at 12:30 pm and remain in effect until all bands and groups pass the reviewing stand. The northern end of Washington Street (from 12th Street to 15th Street) will close at about 11 am providing an opportunity for bands and groups to assemble for the parade.

Additionally, many people come to Hoboken to join the festive atmosphere causing traffic conditions entering and leaving our city. Please anticipated traffic problems and plan accordingly. Parking spaces will be scarce.

The Hoboken Parking Utility will strictly enforce the parking restrictions along the parade route. Additionally, the Hoboken Police Department will have additional officers on duty throughout the day and evening to assist the public. The police department will strictly enforce (zero tolerance) violations of the open alcoholic beverages ordinances as well as DWI statutes. DWI checkpoints will be assembled in selected locations as
per state guidelines.

If any of your employees are coming to our community for work or to enjoy the parade, please encourage the employees to use public transportation (unless you provide a parking space).
